Scarlett was spotted holding hands with a mystery guy last weekend in New York. She has been single for a while now, ever since she and Sean Penn split back in May, so it's nice to see her looking happy with someone new. In fact, she said some months ago:

"I've never been single for a chunk of time before. You miss having a partner and a confidant, but I have to say, I'm appreciating having the time to get to know myself."

It's good to hear that. I don't know who this new man is but I hope it's revealed soon because she simply glows in these pics.

UPDATE: It's been reported that his name is Nate and he's an advertising executive in New York.

the beauty book

New and gorgeous image of Scarlett photographed by Darren Tieste for The Beauty Book. She has said about this project:

"Cancer affects us all regardless age, race, religious background and/or lifestyle choice. This disease leaves many feeling hopeless and helpless. By purchasing this book you are taking action: helping to fund vital research programs searching for a cure. I'm proud to be a part of this project which helps to affect positive change in the face of the epic battle against brain cancer."

It's really great that she collaborated in this book and she looks really beautiful here, loved the pic. In other news, she's going to cost a fashion event in New York City to benefit president Obama's reelection campaign on Feburary 7 along with Marc Jacobs, Anna Wintour, Beyonce, Vera Wang and others.

And she has recorded a song titled 'Before My Time' written by J.Ralph for the documentary 'Chasing Ice' and I can't wait to listen to it, he also wrote Scarlett's song 'One Whole Hour' and it's one of my fave songs from her so I'm sure this one will be great as well.

Jessie Baylin's video 'Hurry, Hurry', directed by Scarlett is out! I actually expected a lot more from it but the vid is really well done and the song is so beautiful. Jessie and Scarlett are good friends since their teens so it's really great that they collaborated like this.

It's simply one continous shot of Jessie on the Manhattan bridge while she sings in the rain, the video is delicate, just like the song, and she glows with the lighting and visual effects. It's a simple video but I liked it, looking at this and at her shortfilm 'These Vagabond Shoes', Scarlett as a director likes to let images speak for themselves and here, she lets images and the beautiful song do the rest.

Scarlett looking radiant in these behind-the-scenes photos for the Dolce & Gabbana campaign, she looks flawless here, what a beauty!

She's often compared to Marilyn Monroe as she's curvy and a bombshell like the late actress but Scarlett, who was considered to star in 'My Week with Marilyn', said about this:

"There's a lot there to explore, and I like to watch other people do it but I have no interest. It's lovely to be compared to somebody as sort of effervescent and charming and fragile and I think kind of an underrated actor, really... you know, beautiful and everything. But it's never been one for me."

The lead went to Michelle Williams and I think it was a smart move from Scarlett not to play Marilyn as she would be more typecast with that sexy image, even though we can't deny she's really the modern day Marilyn of this generation, at least when it comes to glamour and style.

A very smiley Scarlett in USA Today's portraits taken last month while promoting 'We Bought a Zoo'. She has recently said:

"I feel incredibly fortunate to do what I love to do, everything else is an added bonus or a pain. But I know so many actors who can't get a job, so for me to complain about it would be a little silly. But it is annoying. [...] My life is not always a press junket. Most of the time when I'm not working, I live a relatively normal lifestyle. I don't leave hotels and get mobbed all the time. I'm mostly an optimistic person and I feel really happy to be able to work on something fulfilling."

She's been so honest, optimistic and so much more relaxed since last year that you can tell she's in a really good place right now, good for her.

we bought a zoo / un lugar para soñar

A really funny on set photo of 'We Bought a Zoo' of the cast with director Cameron Crowe (on the left).

I have finally watched it and I liked it even though it's everything you expect it to be but the movie is really cute and tender, it leaves you with a big smile and it's really entertaining. Also, Scarlett is so great on it, the character is a strong, young female and she pulls it off really well. She has said about her role:

"I was not playing the girl who is always bridesmaid never a bride, or looking for a husband, or the other woman - none of those things. She's a very practical, rounded, motivated, independent woman. I find as I get older, it's nice to move away from the ingénue category. It's fun and I've done it very well by, but it's nice to be able to transtition into women that came with a history, that are established."

It's great that she wants to get better roles and even though the movie is just ok, she did really great, I liked her a lot.

Look at this little thing, these are pics of Scarlett's childhood alongside her family, her twin brother Hunter, her older brother and sister Adrian and Vanessa, her mom and dad and grandparents and these are simply so sweet, Scarlett was such a beautiful little girl and it's so adorable that she's smiling in all the pics. There's even a video of her and Hunter celebrating their third birthday party and it's the cutest thing.
